Hej. I'm Mads Burcharth. I'm a 22 year old danish Graphic Designer working at the creative design firm STUPID. Graduated in april 2008 from SDE College, Center of Visual Communications with a major in Digital Media.
HOW DID YOU GET INTO WORLD OF LOGO DESIGN?
Well, I've always been fascinated by logo design. I actually already bought my first logo inspiration book by the age of 14 instead of the math book I needed in school. That was way more interesting. After that I slowly began to develop myself and here I am today and still learning everyday.
HOW IMPORTANT IS A LOGO?
It's essential. Rather than making a super long and tortuous explanation, let's take a pretty simple and rough(and I mean rough) example. You're shopping and the home front has ordered us to bring home some organic sun lotion. You're now standing in front of two white ordinary bottles - the first bottle doesn't have a logo, but just rainbow-colored text saying sun lotion while the second one has a green-ish logo which depicts a sun formed out of leaves with some handmade suitable type beneath saying organic sun lotion. Yeah, I might have exadurated a little, but seriously which one would you go with?
WHAT MAKES A GREAT LOGO?
When it conveys the true meaning of the product or business.
YOUR FAVOURITE LOGO MADE BY YOU
I don't think I've made that one yet, but if I have to point one out it must be the wake cup identity.

God that's hard! Maybe the "Families" logo designed back in 1980 by Herb Lubalin. Pure class I tell you.
CHEAP LOGOS: YES OR NO? WHY?
No. Quality costs - that's how it works in real life too.
WHERE DO YOU USUALLY SEEK INSPIRATION?
I have a bunch of awesome books laying around at home and at the studio. Besides that, I now and then love to surf around the net with a cup of joe in my hand.
