When the logo for the 2012 Olympic Games was released, there was a lot of backlash and some people began to start competitions calling for a redesign of the Logo, and this was one of my submissions. With the branding I chose to redefine what the Olympic logo looks like, making it more open and accepting, more playful but still straightforward. The word mark says London 2012 and above the “1” I designed a geometric flame with the iconic Olympic rings inside. That flame also forms a bird representing flight, freedom and creativity.
